If you live in the Bronx and generally read local community papers, you may notice a familiar byline next to some of the photos. After a 5-month break, I’m back freelancing for community newspapers, in particular, The Bronx Times, as a photographer.
Since August, I’ve been reacquainting myself with the hustle of photojournalism and truly it has been reinvigorating for my sense of photography. I have covered over 20 assignments so far and there are more to come. There is just something about capturing events and people in motion that has always been exciting for me, and since I’m no stranger to journalism, I’m glad to be back doing what I love.
Although I have a few complaints that go along with the profession, the opportunity of getting my work out there and building my resume for bigger and better future projects keeps pushing me forward, and I am thankful for it.
