Foot Traffic

Year: 2011
First Shown: Bronx Sole (2013) @ Bronx Art Space (Bronx, NY)

“Foot Traffic” attempts to discover a person’s personality through the stances and styles motioned with their feet in public spaces similar to how a strong handshake can allude to a person’s level of confidence. By focusing on a person’s feet, a body part that is often hidden and low to ground but is contradictory decorated with symbols, paints, and ornaments to draw attention, the subtle language of these lower extremities translate the innate emotions and personal statements that individuals everywhere exhibit both consciously and subconsciously through their feet in relation to their environment.
